I love this quote, and feel it speaks loudly to where we are in our current society. The government which is supposed to be governing its people is corrupt on every level. This country is no longer for the people; it is for the rich and the special interests. We the people have lost our voice; we have lost our freedom.

What amazes me is so many people are blind to how badly they are getting fucked. They go about their daily lives working so hard to support their families, and consumed with greed and the notion they need to keep up with the Joneses by owning useless shit. We are so overworked; we have no time to really see what is going on in this country. There are some people who may watch the 24 hour news stations, but who is to say if the information we are receiving is true?

Fox News is a perfect example of government controlled media, when the fuck head was in office Fox News had nothing but good things to say about him and his policies. The minute Obama came into office all of a sudden everything which is wrong in this country is his entire fault. The sad thing is people eat this shit up.

We believe what the media tells us; this media brainwashing begins when we are kids. The media shapes us, and our public schools contribute in shaping us into faceless consumer tools. We become blind to the truth, and take it up the ass.

The government we currently have is so fucked up, and destructive to the peoples well being. Even if we had a president who truly wanted to make this country better, he/she would be stone walled in the Senate or by Congress. The liars are so intertwined, and the two parties who are both corrupt in their own right, can never agree on anything, so everything remains the same. We can experience no real progress. Because of this the people suffer, and we allow this to happen.

Our Declaration of Independence states that we the people have the right to overthrow a tyrannical government; it states.

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government,”

The problem is no one will ever stand up. In reality how could we? The liers and swine have everything so locked up and controlled there is no way the people could even revolt. Our only hope is if the people stand together, and we start electing people into office who are actually for the people. I am not talking about Republican, Democrat, or Independents. We need to create a completely different party. We need to create ‘The Peoples Republic,” and bring this country back to what it was meant to be a Republic, which is for the people by the people.   1. The idea of creating a new political party simply won’t fly. I was actively involved in third party politics for about 15 years. Heck, I even ran for Congress and Governor in Oregon in the late 90s as a Socialist!

    Our electoral system has been so constructed to marginalize any party but the two-headed monster. So many hurdles and barriers are part and parcel of this tilted system that –without millions upon millions of dollars — almost any non-Republicrat effort is doomed from the get-go. (Needless to say, we don’t have millions upon millions of dollars.)

    It goes like this: The media won’t cover a candidacy unless the candidate can show strong polling numbers, but you can’t begin to show strong poll numbers, if you don’t get any media coverage! Media coverage is the milk of campaign contributions and, when you don’t receive it, very little money rolls in. Without sufficient funds, you can’t send out mailers or buy TV/radio/internet ads. Unable to advertise, you barely show up in the polls and so the media doesn’t cover your campaign because your candidacy isn’t viewed as viable.

      Rambling, our system is screwed. If we were able to stand as one, start small and do grassroots ralleys the cause will grow. The campaign can be funded by the people. It may take years, but if enough people see the truth then we can make a change. Remember a thousand mile journey begins with one step. I think people get discourged because they know in their hearts that they alone can not make a change. It is possible to start small and grow as one nation. I think the majority of America is sick and tired of the status quo, and want real change. I call out to you Rambling lets begin this journey!

        I laud your enthusiasm! However, I have been down that road before and all I got for 15+ years of banging my head against the wall was a headache. I’d be happy to share my more extended reasoning as to why these sorts of efforts never pan out. Send me an email (listed on my blog and, I think, my blogger profile). I don’t desire to take up that much space on your blog. 😉

    Agree with you in principle, and while I would be the last person to carry the Republican Party’s water, Fox News is hardly alone in its guilt when it comes to picking sides. CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, et cetera ad nauseum have long been in bed with the Democrats. But as I said, I agree with you in principle, and to the point where Republican/Democrat are little more than two shades of the same colour. I still believe the system at its core, as stated in the Constitution, is sound. The difficulty is getting back to that level in an age when social apathy nearly rivals that of the Roman Empire when the “barbarians” were at the gates. As long as the United Sheep of America have their TiVos and air conditioning, American Idol will get more votes than any political candidate, and Kim Kardashian will get more views than what’s going on in the House and Senate.
